Dr. Gruve's Psychedelic
Blooze and Boogie Revival

Dear Dr. Gruve,

I hear you have a new show on Luver!!! What kind of music will you play for the Luver masses? Will it be gruuvy? Can I dance on the edge of the abyss to it?

Warmly yours,
An expectant Luver listener!!!

Dear LUVeR listener,

No need to worry!!! Dr. Gruve is the Ph.D. of platter playing. An ordained minister in the religion of rock. A master of sensual segue. Dr. Gruve will keep you on the edge of the abyss, doing the boogie thing. We will ride the wild riff from the Mississipi Delta to the Whiskey A-Go-Go to the postmodern pastiche of virtual splaciality. From the back porch to the garage. From the juke joint to the underground club. Our reference point of course is the blues. The slow moan, the foot stompin, party time boogie, the "woke up this morning, my baby left me" blues--the heartfelt life. Segues and tangents through roots rock and 60s psychedelia and garage punk will occur often and at times take center stage (but the blues will be heard muttering in the background amongst the snivels and snarls of the bad boy finally fronting his own band). Some obscure progressive type with an underlying beat might also make an appearance once in awhile to show how much he learned at art school--the complexity of it all (but the blues will still whisper sweetly behind all the intricate facade shimmering forth). An obscure punk or new wave ditty might crash the party occasionally to remind us that the 70s and 80s had their own sense of absurd beauty. Garage revivals throughout history up to the present will make inroads onto our turntable of plenty and impact our collective unconscious wall of sound receptivity. Be assured Luver listener, the day of the Gruv is here.

Yours forever,

Dr. Gruve
